Kia ora, I'm Callum Burgess, a freelance photographer and videographer with over 4 years of experience working across a variety of media fields under QuickShot Media. Based in North Canterbury, I have the freedom to pursue projects that fuel my passion for storytelling, both behind the camera and in the editing room. My work spans across photography and videography, with a personal interest in documentary and journalism. Many of my personal projects are centered around documentary filmmaking, where I focus on capturing real, authentic stories.

When working both on location or in the office editing footage, my goal is always to create compelling work that resonates with target audiences. I’m always excited to meet new people, take on fresh challenges, and bring impactful stories to life

I absolutely love the freedom my career provides, especially the ability to collaborate with diverse people and explore new ideas. I’m always open to travel, both within New Zealand and abroad, and hold citizenships in both the UK and the USA, which allows me to easily take on international projects. The ability to explore new places while working is a true highlight of what I do.

Education

Graduating in 2025 with a Fine Arts degree in Film, Photography, and Moving Image from the University of Canterbury. Throughout my studies, I developed strong technical and creative skills in visual storytelling, cinematic techniques, and multimedia production. My coursework equipped me with a solid understanding of both the artistic and practical aspects of film and photography, including editing, cinematography, and conceptual development. This education has provided me with the ability to bring creative ideas to life through visual media, while also honing my problem-solving and collaboration skills for real-world applications

Service & Agreements

As a tradition freelancer, I provide a range of professional gear to ensure the highest quality results for every project. I primarily work with DJI drones and Canon cameras, and I supply my own lighting and tripods as needed. I edit using Adobe software but am flexible and open to using other programs if the project requires. If additional equipment is necessary, I have strong connections to camera rental services and can arrange for rentals, though a rental fee may apply. I am also confident working with equipment provided by clients, ensuring flexibility and adaptability for various project needs.

The services I provide include photography, videography, and related media work, including but not limited to filming, editing, and post-production. Specific details of the project, including deliverables, timeline, and location, will be agreed upon in writing prior to the commencement of work. A deposit of 25% is required to secure booking. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the project or as otherwise agreed in writing. Payment methods are limited to bank transactions only. Late payments may incur additional charges. Upon full payment, all rights to the final deliverables will be transferred to the client, with the exception of any pre-existing copyrighted material used in the production. I retain the right to use the final work for portfolio purposes and promotional materials unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. I will respect the confidentiality of the client's project and will not share any details or media without prior consent unless required by law.
